PhD & Small Grants application processes

Applications should be made using our online grants management system, CC Grant Tracker. Once registered with the system, you will have access to the application forms for our open grant rounds. These are scheduled throughout the year. Both our PhD and Small Grant rounds are one stage application processes.

All proposals must clearly demonstrate how they align with our vision to fund life-changing research into bowel cancer and other bowel diseases. By researching cutting edge treatments and investing in the best science, we are saving and improving people’s lives.

Bowel Research UK is a member of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC), which represents the leading medical and health research charities in the UK. We support the principle of using animals in research when it is necessary to advance knowledge of bowel health and bowel disease and to develop new treatments. This research only takes place where there is no alternative available. Bowel Research UK would expect researchers when using animals to adhere to the principles of the ‘3 Rs‘. Bowel Research UK supports the AMRC position statement on the Use of Animals in Medical Research.

In addition, Grant applications involving animals under special protection (non-human primates, cats, dogs, equines) and any concerns relating to NC3Rs will be referred for additional peer review. Further information is also available within our Terms and Conditions.
