At Bowel Research UK our mission is to fund research that benefits patients directly.

We believe the best way to do this is to make those very patients part of our research work from day one.

We do that through a unique patient & public involvement programme called Take PaRT. This network of people ensures patient voices shape the projects we fund.

But what exactly is ‘patient and public involvement’ and why is it so vital to doing the most beneficial research? And most importantly, what’s in it for patients themselves who might want to get involved?

To explain, we’ve teamed up with Sci Ani to produce a short animated explainer. The video explains the basics of PPI, why it’s so valuable, and how it can benefit patients both now and in the future. You can see it below:

Have you, or someone you know been affected by bowel disease? If so, you could help shape the research that will create better treatments and ultimately cures.
