Alan Bennett talked openly with Bowel Research UK about his experiences with bowel cancer that occurred twenty-three years ago.

We spent an afternoon chatting with Alan who very kindly allowed us to capture his thoughts and reflections on surviving bowel cancer.

‘I’ve been enrolled as a member in that exclusive aristocracy who, for however long, have survived cancer. Thankfully it’s a growing aristocracy and one day I’m sure such survival will seem commonplace and hardly worth mentioning. Meanwhile, I am one of the many who are here when they did not expect to be: take heart.”

Bowel Research UK  is dedicated to funding research and finding effective treatments for bowel cancer and other bowel diseases, to save lives, and to help people affected by bowel cancer and other bowel conditions to enjoy a better quality of life.

Our work is needed now more than ever. Please support us by making a donation to fund vital research today.
