This summer I am taking part in The European Wanderers’ ‘Road to Ventoux’ charity bike ride, a 400-mile, five-day bike ride from Perpignan to Marseille with the aim of raising a combined minimum total of £10,000 for 3 different charities. My chosen charity is Bowel and Cancer Research and I will be riding and remembering Sue Evans.

Sue was an amazing woman who died two years ago after living with bowel cancer for a number of years. Wife to my great mate Nick, and fantastic close friend to my wife Angela, she is missed by many. Sue was an inspiration to all who came in contact with her and she raised many thousands of pounds for cancer charities. I hope to add a few more pounds with your help.

Every day, 110 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer. Thanks to research, bowel cancer survival has more than doubled in the last 40 years, but we need to do more to beat this disease. Any funds raised will go towards that cause and hopefully prevent others being taken far too early in their lives.

Donating to Bowel Research UK through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Bowel Research and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - the team raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Any donation would be brilliant - thank you.
