As an Assistant Practitioner in the Colorectal Team I provide support to patient's and their families during their diagnosis of Bowel Cancer, their treatment and recovery. Without research into treatments and diagnostic pathways, many individuals diagnosed with bowel cancers may not experience a positive outcome to their treatment. Research is funded and carried out by organisations like this and is made possible by charitable donations to fundraising challenges like mine.
The effects of Bowel Cancers is not limited to the physical effects of treatments including surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. This Cancer can have psychological effects on the patient and their loved ones. It can also have an impact on their finances and other practical aspects of day to day life. Please consider sponsoring me to complete this challenge of 42 miles during January 2024.
Each year, over 42,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with bowel cancer. That's why I'm supporting Bowel Research UK in January by taking on Challenge 42. Bowel Research UK are the UK’s leading specialist bowel cancer and bowel disease research charity and our research is saving and improving lives. I'll be covering 42 miles by 31st January to raise money for vital life-changing research into bowel cancer and bowel disease. Please sponsor me as I take on this challenge and start 2024 with a bang.
