The London Marathon 2024 will be my second marathon running for Bowel Research UK and my third London Marathon since October 2022 :-).
I want to run for Bowel Research UK to give back after all the wonderful treatment I received through three major operations and to help other people who are experiencing bowel cancer or bowel disease.
Training for these marathons has got me through a very difficult four years of my life, whilst I have recovered from bowel cancer and readjusted to life. Running makes me come alive, it stretches me mentally and physically and has shown me I can achieve what seems impossible! Without my running I am sure I would have needed a lot of therapy to heal my mind whilst my body was recovering from my treatment and operations. Plus, running has made me fitter, stronger and so much tougher.
Thank you to BRUK for all the amazing work you do and for the privilege and opportunity of running for you again in the London Marathon 2024!
