As anyone who knows us is aware, the last 18 months has seen the loss of two influential people in our lives.nnThe loss of Duncan my father in-law in 2023 to a bowel related illness and also Mrs Annie Filler one of the most talented women I have ever met. Both losses have affected our amazing friends and families, leaving holes that will never be filled. nOne thing I have been told since we lost these two amazing people, is that both wished to have taken part in the London Marathon..so this is now where I step in and take the opportunity to dedicate the race to them and hopefully fundraise a huge amount.nnFor me, it is going to require a huge amount of time and personal dedication to push myself to a level of fitness that I haven’t experienced properly for years and years. nI”ll be training in the dark and wet through the winter months, and pushing my body to its limits. Most of all it’s going to take mental willpower and commitment. nnI don’t think I need more motivation then the thought of completing it on behalf of the two amazing people mentioned before, one would be on my shoulder shouting and pushing me forward the other serenading me with songs ( I”ll let you decided which is which!) and the support around me.nnWith your help, the funds you can help me raise can make a huge difference, supporting groundbreaking research projects, clinical trials, and initiatives that directly benefit patients at Bowel Research UK. nnLots more to come…nnThank you and I can’t wait for you guys to join me on this journey…nnMatt
