I will be running the London Marathon 2025 for Bowel Research UK in memory of my Grandad and best friend (Arthur), who sadly passed away in 2019 after his battle with Bowel Cancer. nnIt has always been the running joke in our family (quite literally!) that my Mum would be the only one to run a marathon - after amazingly completing it in 2009! But now the time has come for me to take that crown! And I couldn’t think of any better way to do it than running in memory of our Grandad. My two brothers (Morgan and Lewis) and I spent many years throughout our youth competing in sporting events: go-karting, football, and cycling, to name a few! I think it’s fair to say he was always our biggest supporter. Whether driving us up and down the country to get to an event (Or nearest hospital – Mostly in Lewis’s case), travelling abroad to watch us race, or to sit and listen when we needed it – he was always there. Throughout all this sporting chaos, running never crossed our minds - so I am sure he will be up there laughing and supporting once more when the day comes!nnAbout Bowel Research UK: Bowel Research UK is a national medical research charity dedicated to funding new treatments and potential cures for bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and other disorders. The charity’s goal is to save lives while also enabling people living with chronic bowel conditions to enjoy a much better quality of life. They are the founders of the National Bowel Research Centre and have invested £9 Million in research over the last ten years – to help end Bowel Cancer and Bowel Disease. nnAny donations, whether big or small, would be greatly appreciated, and if you are able to support on the day, that would be just as amazing!nnThank You So Much,nCallum.n
