I am running the London Marathon this year to raise funds for Bowel Research UK, a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. My grandfather fought bravely but ultimately lost his battle with bowel cancer. My connection to this cause doesn't end there. I have been living with Crohn's disease, a lifelong inflammatory bowel disease, for many years. Living with Crohn's means dealing with chronic pain, fatigue, and unpredictable flare-ups that affect my daily life. Yet, like my grandfather, I face this challenge head-on and am determined to turn my journey into a force for good.nn(About Bowel Research UK and Why Your Support Matters)nnBowel Research UK is leading the way in funding life-changing research into bowel cancer and other bowel diseases. Every year, over 16,000 people in the UK die from bowel cancer, and over a million suffer from debilitating bowel diseases, like Crohn's and ulcerative colitis. Despite these staggering numbers, bowel diseases often don’t receive the attention they deserve, leaving many people to face their battles in silence.nnBowel Research UK is changing this narrative. As the UK's leading specialist bowel cancer and bowel disease research charity, their groundbreaking research is saving and improving lives. They are dedicated to finding new ways to diagnose, treat, and, one day, cure these diseases. But they can't do it without our help.nnPlease join me in supporting this cause. Together, we can make a real difference.
